Tomatoes

At least my tomato plants seem to be thriving.  This is about my fourth attempt to have a harvestable crop.  Was able to get the plants for a buck a piece from Northern Lights.  They love this spot in the yard.

The dicks in Washington have passed the leader's BBB.  We have all read or heard the damage it will cause the most vulnerable in our population.  The senator from Alaska sold the wellbeing of these folks down the river for a few nuggets of advantage for her state.  This is transactional politics at is worst.

I was out cutting up a branch for pickup next week.  My lovely neighbor Ernie across the street was out cutting his lawn. He paused and we got to speak a little.

Ernie is a veteran of the Viet Nam era.  He is an active volunteer at the VA hospital downtown.  We talked a little about his job on patrol in the middle of combat.  He carries the regret pf ending the lives of the so called enemy.  It comes in direct conflict with his Catholic faith which is still strong today.  Killing is not a Christian value.  Frankly, it took great courage to tell me that.  He is a fine man.

Another neighbor Chuck gave me a loper to use on this project.  I was struggling with a hand saw on this job trying to balance the branches on a little trash can.  These kind of neighbors are a gift in today's impersonal world.

I have a confession  I went to McDonalds for lunch before my shopping trip.  I had a Big Mac meal.  I was completely underwhelmed. It was tasteless and the fries were undercooked.  I felt some shame and remorse as I ordered the food.  This stuff was the lifeblood of my youth quite long ago.  I know now that the nutritional value is lacking.  But, I did it anyway. Not returning anytime soon.

Gonna go to the Riverfront in the sunny weather today

thats it

A ride on the lake

So, recently Judy and I went to Kensington Metropark for a boat ride supposedly with Shannon's group at New Gateways.  It was a stunning...
